Heritage Resorts & Golf ambassador, Henni Zuël (formerly Koyack), shares her fondness for the acclaimed resort on the southwest coast of the island, and its importance in connecting her Mauritian roots with the sport she loves.
For me, to be able to blend golf, the island I love and share our rich cultural family heritage with our daughter is a dream come true.
Former Ladies European Tour Professional and Sky Sports Golf broadcaster, Henni, believes Heritage Resorts & Golf is the perfect blend of luxury, sustainability and pure golfing drama.
A frequent visitor to the resort, Henni has witnessed its remarkable evolution and the development of its second golf course, La Réserve Golf Links. This addition has elevated Heritage Golf Club to a world top 25 destination and made it the only 45-hole golf resort in the Indian Ocean.
As the first and only contemporary links course in the Indian Ocean, La Réserve Golf Links combines Henni’s love of links golf, which she played growing up in the UK, with the spectacular views and tropical backdrop of Mauritius.
An advocate of sustainability, Henni is very proud of the course’s GEO Certified Development status, which recognises its efforts in fostering native flaura and fauna, enhancing local ecosystems, conserving resources and supporting local communities.
“The course plays hand-in-hand with nature, mindful of its location alongside a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Former sugar cane fields have been sensitively planted with native grasses to create rich rolling grasslands that encourage ecological diversity, while adding to the links character of the course.”
Henni also explains how Heritage Resorts & Golf provides all the elements for a serene escape, enabling her to reconnect with herself and with nature. Amidst the lush landscapes and peaceful surroundings of Bel Ombre, she finds peace and rejuvenation. The resort’s pristine golf courses and breathtaking views offer her the perfect blend of relaxation and inspiration, allowing her to fully immerse herself in the natural beauty of the island.
This place really is my heaven on Earth […] I absolutely love spending time here. The more time I can spend here, the better!
