Krishna Nundoo, the Head Golf Professional at Heritage Golf Club, developed a passion for golf from a young age and pursued his dream to become a fully qualified PGA golf professional. His journey has taken him around the world to work with industry-leading golf instructors, including the renowned David Leadbetter. Here, Krishna tells us more about his path to becoming a certified Golfzon Leadbetter Academy Coach.
Tell us about yourself Krishna…
My name is Krishna Nundoo. I am 34 years old and the Head Golf Professional at Le Château Golf Course, Heritage Golf Club located in Bel Ombre, Mauritius. My golf career began ten years ago at Heritage Golf Club as an assistant to the Head Golf Professional and in 2017 I started my own journey to become a teaching professional.
In 2020, I enrolled in the PGA of South Africa to obtain my diploma and become a certified golf instructor. In the same year, I was promoted to Golf Professional at Heritage Golf Club and went on to become the Head Golf Professional two years later.
In 2022, I enrolled in the Golfzon Leadbetter coaching certification to continue my golf education. As part of this training, I was given the opportunity to attend the Leadbetter Academy World Headquarters in Orlando, Florida to learn from the very best instructors in the golf industry. I have since completed my Level 6 certification and am pleased to be the first qualified instructor at the new Golfzon Leadbetter Academy here at Le Château Golf Course at Heritage Golf Club.
When did you develop an interest in golf?
My interest in golf started at a young age. I grew up near the Dodo Golf Club, an iconic golf course here in Mauritius, where both my father and grandfather worked. I started working as a caddy and played occasionally after school with my older brother who had a passion for the game and was a very good player.
With my family’s heritage working in golf and being around the golf course from such a young age, I always know I would enjoy a career in this industry and am fortunate enough for that dream to have come true.
Tell us more about your golf experience…
Nowadays I have little time to play in golf events, but when I was still an amateur in 2016, I came second at the Heritage Golf Club Open which kickstarted my confidence to pursue a career in professional golf.
In 2019, I competed in the Heritage Golf Club Open as a professional for the first time and finished second – I was able to finish one place better and win the event in 2020. This was a great year for me as I also recorded a hole-in-one at Avalon Golf Estate in Mauritius!
My career in golf has taken me around the world and during my travels I’ve had the opportunity to play at many beautiful golf courses in Johannesburg, South Africa; Orlando, Florida; Bali, and in Etretat, France.

Tell us more about your recent trip to the Leadbetter Academy World Headquarters in Florida and what you learned during this experience…
My trip to the Golfzon Leadbetter Academy World Headquarters in Florida was a really enriching experience and something I will remember for a long time. Meeting David Leadbetter, the renowned golf coach, in person was an unforgettable experience.
During the trip, I had the opportunity to test the newest golf equipment and attend coaching conferences led by world-class instructors including, PGA and LPGA Coach David Leadbetter himself, Stephen Sweeney a leading putting coach, among others.
I also had the opportunity to meet my personal Leadbetter certification advisor who has been my mentor throughout the learning process. I attended a few of his personal lessons and it was great to watch how the specific techniques taught in the Golfzon Leadbetter course are delivered in real life.
What will your experience and the new Golfzon Leadbetter Academy bring to Mauritius?
This experience was a highlight in my golf career so far and the knowledge and skills I have acquired will be a great asset to the Golfzon Leadbetter Academy at Heritage Golf Club, the first of its kind in Mauritius.
It was wonderful to connect with golf instructors from around the world, hear tips and tactics on how they approach coaching and learn new techniques to use in my teaching at Heritage Golf Club.
